Milton is located at the intersection of Highway 401 and Trafalgar Road, and is 30 kilometers west of Downtown Toronto. Milton is bordered by Burlington to the north, Oakville to the east, Halton Hills to the west, and Mississauga to the south.

On the contrary, New Milton is surrounding Old Milton which has newer neighborhoods that are all situated towards the south of the 401 highway. After 2000, the East side of Milton town was developed and neighborhoods such as Dempsey, Clarke, Beaty, and Coates were made up. While the neighborhoods located on the Western side of Old Milton came to life after 2005 and are newer. Examples of neighborhoods here include Harrison, Scott, and Willmott.

Toronto is approximately 43 kilometers from Milton so it takes an estimated 45 minutes to go to Toronto from Milton by drive. The GO train and GO bus visit the Milton Station that goes to the Union Station (in Toronto) and takes just over one hour to reach Toronto. There is also the option to go by taxi but it’s expensive and unsuitable for people who travel daily to Toronto for work purposes.
People living in Milton like the fact that they can reach the airport in less than 30 minutes, and downtown Toronto in 45 minutes. The timings are subject to change during rush hour.
Schools in Milton

The schools in Milton are operated from one of the two main boards: The Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board. Apart from their two boards, there is a French-language school known as the Conseil Scolaire Mon Avenir, École Élémentaire St. Nicolas. There are also numerous private schools here.
There are 16 elementary schools and 2 secondary schools operated by the Halton District School Board. The population of schools can vary and can be in the range from 300 to 1200 students. The 2 secondary schools have more than a thousand students.
The Catholic District Coard has elementary schools grouped into two depending upon which secondary school they feed into. There are 10 Catholic elementary schools in the town. After completing elementary school, the students have the option to either attend Bishop Reading or Jean Vanier Secondary School for their secondary education (Grades 9 to 12).
There aren’t any post-secondary institutions in Milton. The nearest campuses are Sheridan College in Oakville and McMaster University in Hamilton.
