Uxbridge

The town is situated in Uxbridge Township and was first settled by William Duncan in 1804. The township was named after Uxbridge, England. In 1810, Duncan built a gristmill on Duffin’s Creek which later became known as Duncan’s Mill. A sawmill soon followed and by 1820 Uxbridge had become an important milling center with three grist mills and two sawmills.
Uxbridge was incorporated as a village in 1872 and became a town in 1888. It is now part of the Regional Municipality of Durham. The Uxbridge-Scott Museum, housed in an historic building which was once a jail, is a popular tourist attraction. The Uxbridge Studio Tour is also a major draw for visitors to the area.

The distance between Uxbridge and Toronto is 54 kilometers. There are five ways to travel from Uxbridge to Toronto. The most recommended way is to use the bus from the Union Station Bus Terminal that takes you to Toronto St. S. Campbell Dr in Uxbridge in one and a half hours.
